He is currently a professor at Seian University of Art and Design. He is best known for Iblard, an original fantasy world that has spawned a video game, manga, picture books, textbooks, a short animated film and an appearance in Whisper of the Heart. His also painted a mural at the Ghibli Museum, which can be found at the central lobby. Exhibition Description Naohisa Inoue is a highly acclaimed artist who has been continuously depicting his bizarre IBLAED world since the 80's. In the world of Iblard, all objects can find the prototype of reality, and this utopian world actually conveys an Ibladic way to feel the world, to reconstruct the world, and to appreciate the world. He uses his paintings of a strange, wonderful and magical world, which he names IBLARD. He often says that IBLARD is largely based on our own world, perhaps just the buildings in IBLARD, covered with ivy and surrounded by beautiful forests or gardens. Our world can often resemble IBLARD, depending on how you look at it. If you can see the world with the eyes of IBLARD, even the simplest scenes of daily life can become beautiful pictures of IBLARD. Therefore, just observing our own world can also become very interesting! So this so-called "utopia" is not separate from our world, and in fact, when he creates these lBLARD pictures, he is also sending us such a message.
