Service Description
Date:2022-03-10 through 2023-1-8 Venue:The Shanghai Museum Address: No.2 Exhibition Hall, Shanghai Museum, Renmin Ave., People's Square, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China Event Descriptions After "THE PERPETUAL PROSPERITY" and "HARVEST FROM GENEROSITY" GIFTS FOR SHANGHAI MUSEUM," which were held in 2021, "TREASURE OF PROSPERITY" GIFTS FOR SHANGHAI MUSEUM" is another significant exhibition of donated artefacts. It is also a wonderful chapter of the Shanghai Museum's 70th anniversary this year. The exhibition includes 195 objects/groups of cultural artefacts, representing nearly all divisions of the collection at the Shanghai Museum. These objects/groups include bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, seals, sculptures, coins, oracle bones, jade, lacquerware, furniture, bamboo, wood, tooth and horn, manuscripts, embroidery, etc. Along with a few notable collectors, a number of great bureaucrat families from the Republican and Late Qing dynasties who lived in Shanghai donated their collections and significant cultural artefacts to the Shanghai Museum before and after the Shanghai Museum was founded. Many local collectors and friends from abroad gave the Shanghai Museum their collections in the late 1970s and early 1980s. These collections included treasures brought back from abroad as well as priceless cultural artefacts that were returned as a result of official policy. More people are now able to appreciate Chinese history and culture because of these artefacts, which have significantly improved the collection of the Shanghai Museum. In this way, we pay our highest respect to all donors, cultural relics museum workers, and enthusiasts who care about and support the development of the Shanghai Museum.
