1* Yang Xiuze was born in Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province in 1981, of Dong nationality, and now lives in Beijing. In his early years, he learned Chinese painting under the guidance of Hubei art educator Ji Shilin. In 2008, he was admitted to the National Academy of Painting of China and studied under the famous flower and bird painter Mr. Zhan Gengxi. In 2011, he studied in the Advanced Training Class of Chinese Fine Brushwork Painting Society, under the tutelage of the famous flower and bird painter Mr. Li Kuizheng. In 2015, he studied in the Advanced Seminar of Hanmo Art and Calligraphy at the Cultural and Artistic Talent Center of the Ministry of Culture, under the tutelage of the famous calligrapher Mr. Zhang Rongqing. Currently a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Gongbi Painting Society, a member of the Chinese Minority Art Promotion Association, the vice chairman of the Qiandongnan Prefecture Artists Association of Guizhou Province, the honorary chairman of the Artists Association of Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, and the contemporary artist research of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Council member, special painter of the National Academy of Ethnic Painting.
Honors: In 2010, his work "Plateau Love" was selected in the "Hundred Flowers Award for Nationalities" Chinese National Art Works Exhibition-China Artists Association, the hand-painted porcelain plate "Great Fortune" was collected in Jingdezhen China Ceramic Museum, 2013 work "Morning Song" was selected to commemorate Yun The 380th Anniversary of Nantian's Birth and the National Flower and Bird Painting Exhibition-China Artists Association. 2* Chinese painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. Painting in the traditional style is known today in Chinese as guóhuà, meaning 'national' or 'native painting', as opposed to Western styles of art which became popular in China in the 20th century. Traditional painting involves essentially the same techniques as calligraphy and is done with a brush dipped in black ink or coloured pigments; oils are not used. As with calligraphy, the most popular materials on which paintings are made are paper and silk. The finished work can be mounted on scrolls, such as hanging scrolls or handscrolls.
