This November, Sotheby’s Chinese Art auction in London will feature over 170 top-tier lots, including Ming and Qing porcelains, early ceramics, jades, and more.

This auction not only brings together significant private collections from around the world but also presents rare masterpieces, fully showcasing the richness and splendor of Chinese art and culture. We have specially selected three important items:

AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE AND MAGNIFICENT PAIR OF WUCAI ‘FISH’ JARS AND COVERS MARKS AND PERIOD OF JIAJING — This exceptionally rare pair of wucai "fish" jars, dated to the Jiajing period, has been preserved in a German private collection for over a century, making it a remarkable highlight in this sale.

AN EXCEPTIONAL AND MASSIVE ‘HUANGHUALI’ ‘DRAGON’ COMPOUND CABINET, 17TH CENTURY — From an Italian private collection, this grand-scale huanghuali cabinet, adorned with dragon motifs, exemplifies imperial majesty and represents a hallmark of late 17th-century furniture craftsmanship.

AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE UNDERGLAZE-BLUE AND PUCE-ENAMELLED ‘LOTUS’ BOTTLE VASE, SEAL MARK AND PERIOD OF QIANLONG — Bearing the mark and period of the Qianlong Emperor, this vase was once part of the collection of Sir Thomas Beaumont Hohler (1871–1946). Its detailed lotus pattern, rendered in blue and puce enamels, makes it an item of exceptional artistic and collector’s value.

The catalog detailing these items has been prepared, and we invite you to explore the unique beauty of each lot. We hope this auction will offer new collecting opportunities and allow you to experience the cultural and historical resonance behind each of these exquisite pieces.
